Another new committee year for the Club and the committee are looking forward to it.

It will be a surprise if we can match the growth of the last 12 months and nobody is expecting to do that but we have to match the growth in membership with an expansion of facilities for all members. We all have to learn to be very water wise and be careful of every drop. Most people are collecting water into their own tanks and this will certainly help but we must all be conscious of how much water we use from the community tanks as well.

The growth has heralded a fantastic building boom. If you have not been to the club lately (why not?) you will certainly notice a heap of new buildings and sites.

We have plans to expand our toilet facilities and eventually we shall need to look at a new toilet and shower block.

Our tennis courts have been widened and re-leveled and we don't have to chase tennis balls up and down the valley as a net fence has been erected by a dedicated group of members who I suspect didn't like chasing the tennis balls either.

New roads are in and the place is starting to get a green tinge with our recent rain. The dam is fill and pool is undercover for the time being.

The pool deck is well under way and I would think it will be ready for the next sunny season to again highlight our great pool facility.

The rain has started the trees on their way as well and just about all of the direct seeding is starting to produce some growth.

We are growing in more ways than one so why not come and join us in a great place with great members and terrific socials.

Location

Northside Country Club is located near the central Victorian town of Tooborac, about one and a half hours drive north of Melbourne.

Although easy to get to, it is a little difficult to find as the club grounds are not identified for security and privacy reasons. Visitors are asked to contact the club on 0439 44 66 20 to arrange a member to meet and guide them to the club grounds.

Events Calendar

The Calendar is proposed as follows, the events may change but we will try to keep the dates as stated. Full details of each event will be sent around to all members be e-mail or snail mail. As you will notice there are several events to fill so if you feel like showing off your party skills in organizing an event (a theme night? a special meal night?) please contact Donna or any other committee person with your idea. Wouldn't it be great to combine some ideas with others and make another memorable social event for our club?

1/  May           AGM 2008

Our AGM was very successful and followed another Great Night at the Red Carpet presentations. Awards were handed out for the sporting events and for people who helped in some way during the year. Some may not have known they helped until their names were announced by the compare of the evening.

The Committee will continue on with our same VP (Stuart) and a new Secretary (Len) President and Treasurer will be up for election next year. Some of the planning ideas for the next 12 months were explained and all members who wanted to put their opinions on these and other matters. Afternoon tea followed and was again straining the table. If you come to Northside and leave hungry, you must have missed the social. Thanks to Donna who has done a great job as Secretary for the last 2 years and is now staying on to help as our Social Coordinator.

2/June 7th to 9th 2008 Queens Birthday weekend. This will see the first use of our fire pit to cook dinner of soup, meat and damper. Please let us know if you are coming for catering purposes. This event will be on the Saturday night and I guess there will be plenty of activity on the following days.

3/ July 12th 2008 Christmas In July at the Club. We have grown too big to hold this at the usual place at Val and Norms Home, so it will be at the club and if everyone shows up we may have to think about expanding the club house as another project.
